The effects of "Khuong hoat nhu huong decoction" on recovering motor functions in rheumatoid arthritis patients

The objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of "Khuong hoat nhu huong decoction" on motor functions and its side effects in treating type II rheumatoid arthritis patients. Results: Patients treated with the "Khuong hoat nhu huong decoction" responded much better in term of reducing pain and inflammation than the control groups. After treatment, morning stiffness time in treated patients (28.33 + or - 15.22 second or minutes or hours?) was significantly (p 0.05) lower than patients in the control group (45.00 + or - 29.21). Measurements of the Lee index was also significantly lower (p 0.05) in the treated patient group (4.83 + or - 2.89) than in control group (10.53 + or - 7.24). The side effects were reported during and after treatment. Conclusions: These data suggested that "Khuong hoat nhu huong decoction" treatment provided significant comfort to stage II for rheumatoid arthritis patients with little or no side effects.
