In the studied area of Y Yen. Nam Dinh province and belonging to the Red river delta 29 species of Amphibians and Reptiles were recorded. Among them. four were the most common. including (1) Duttaphrynus melanostictus; (2) Fejervarya limnocharis. (3) Ranna guentheri and. (4) Hemidactylus frenatus. A role of insects in the food webs of these four species were as follows: (i) Lepidoptera with 8 species. occupying 19.05 percent of the total (ii) Coleoptera with 7 species. 16.67 percent (iii) Diptera with 6 species. 14.29 percent (iv) Orthoptera and Hymenoptera both with 4 species '. 9.52 percent (v) Hemiptera with 3 species. 7.14 percent (vi) Odonata and Homoptera both with 2 species. 4.76 percent. A importance of insects for the most common four species was as follows: (a) Duttaphrynus melanostictus) using 36 insect species for food. occupying 85.71 percent of the total food intake. (b) Ranna guentheri using 23 species - 54.76 percent. (c) Fejervarya limnocharis with 20 sp.ecies - 47.62 percent al1d (d) Hemidactylus frenatus with 16 species - 38.10 percent.
