Bài viết tổng quan một số nghiên cứu quốc tế có thể tiếp cận được về quan hệ dân tộc vùng biên giới của Trung quốc, với ba nội dung chính. Phần thứ nhất trình bày khái quát về dân tộc và tình hình dân tộc vùng biên giới của Trung Quốc. Phần thứ hai đưa ra một số vấn đề đặc thù, nổi bật và cấp bách trong quan hệ dân tộc vùng biên của Trung Quốc theo nghiên cứu của các học giả quốc tế, xoay quanh năm trục quan hệ chính là: quan hệ nội tộc người trong nước, quan hệ tộc người xuyên biên giới, quan hệ giữa tộc người thiểu số với tộc người đa số, quan hệ giữa các tộc người thiểu số, và quan hệ giữa tộc người với quốc gia - dân tộc. Phần thứ ba chỉ ra các chính sách điều chỉnh quan hệ dân tộc của Trung Quốc và kết quả, hạn chế của các chính sách này.

This article reviews a number of accessible international studies on ethnic relations in China’s border areas, focusing on three main contents. The first part presents an overview of ethnicity and the ethnic situation in China’s border areas. The second part shows some specific, outstanding and urgent issues concerning ethnic relations in those areas according to international studies, revolving around five main axes of relations: intra-ethnic relations, cross-border ethnic relations, relations between ethnic minorities and the ethnic majority group, relations among ethnic minorities, and relations between ethnic groups and the nation-state. The third part points out China’s policies regulating ethnic relations and their results and limitations.
