During 12 years, from 1980 to 1992, we have studied annual mortality rates of Edible-nest Swiftlet Collocalia fuciphaga germani Oust. in Vietnam by ringing and marking method, in combination with study on biology and nest output. The results showed that the mortality rates of adult swiftlets areabout 18-19 per year, and the moratality rates of first year old swiftles are about 40. The average age of population is about 4.7-5.1 years
