Upon the international economic integration trend in banking industry, the gradual reduction in governmental protection, the removal of trade barriers, the continuous technological innovation and the actual growing market demand, Vietnamese commercial banks need appropriate strategies to ensure sustainable development and improve their competitiveness in the market. Under current socio-economic conditions, each bank should depend on its resources as well as strategic objectives to develop a suitable business strategy. With regard to well-established domestic banks, doing market research and expanding business activities to foreign markets, starting with the regional market should be concerned as a crucial investment direction, especially in the context of deepening global integration.
