The Panicle Rice Mite, Steneotarsonemus spinki Smiley (PRM) has become the common rice pest in Vietnam. It is very important to find tolerant cultivars to be used in the near future. The research was conducted in the experimental field with summer rice of the Faculty of Agronomy, Hanoi Agriculture University, Gialam, Hanoi in 2010. The result showed that all 35 cultivars were infested by PRM, at 15 days after infestation 90 percent was infested and at flowering ~tage 100 percent was infested. The number of PRM and its eggs was highest at the flowering stage. The cultivars BC15, Kham duc, Huong com, te Do, Khang dan 18 had high number of PRM and eggs per shoot (200 - 600). Heavily infested cultivars were Nep IR352. Huong com, Nam uu 714, BC15, nep VN1, VL24, VD 20, Jasmine, IR 5040, OMCS2000, Tam moi, Khang dan. Then followed the moderately infested VND95-20, OM6561. OM4655, Bac thorn 7, OM6162, OM6377, OM2517, OMCS2000, OM4101, OM1490, OM4900, OM5472 and HD1, Q5, IBR1, Kham duc, OM8923, OM2514, OM3536, Nam uu 601, Te Do, OM4218 and DL6 were the less infected cultivars.
