Phytochemical investigation of the methanolic extract of the marine sponge Haliclona subarmigera led to the isolation of three sterols, saringosterol (1), 24-hydropeoxy-24-vinyl-cholesterol (2), and cholesterol (3), together with two glycerol derivatives, batilol (4) and chimyl alcohol (5). Their structures were identified by spectroscopic methods including ESI-MS, ID- and 2D-NMR in comparison with the literature values.
