Colloquial language is a means of communication which is only suitable for daily activities, with flippant, even crude nature. Thus, colloquial language will not be able to exist in the literature - a form of art - if the writer does nothave the delicacy and creativity in choosing and using it. However, in Vong tron boi bac (Circle of Betrayals), Chu Lai used a fairly large number of colloquial words and achieved the valuable aesthetic effects when recreating the reality of life as well as the character's personality.
