The results of some researches, investigation, and evaluation of various projects, which was use saline sand for concrete structures, indicated that reinforcement often corroded prematurely. The saline sand used for concrete structures in the civil projects must be ensure both technical requirements for anti-corrosion (concrete quality, waterproofing, thickness of the cover layer...) and appropriate supportive protection method, because normally the chloride content in sand is higher than regulations. However, nowadays, there are not have any standards or technical recommendations mentioned this problem. This paper considerred posibility of using saline sand as aggregate for concrete structures based on investigation of some mechanical properties of sand, studied several corrosion protection for reinforcement as coating reinforced, inhibitors provide effective anti-corrosion accordance with the standard, and proposed solutions protecting reinforcement in the projects.
