Natural materials play an important role in children’s comprehensive development, especially cognitive and intellectual development. Allowing children to come into contact with nature and work with natural materials around them not only helps them connect with nature, develop their senses, promote creativity, but also helps them form symbols. quantity and develop mathematical knowledge naturally. The article presents some outstanding issues: basic concepts; characteristics and content; Classification of natural materials. In particular, the article analyzes and clarifies the relationship and role of physical objects with the formation of quantity symbols for 5-6 year old preschool children.
