The authors conducted this study to measure health related quality of life of suvivors of childhood meningitis and to seek some associated factors. Mean age of follow-up was 39 + or - 18.6 months. The time of measuring was 25.6 + or - 10 months after illness. On the PedsQL TM, meningitis children differed from control children in general score as well as physical function, emotional function, social function and school funtion score. However, there were no association between health-related quality of life and factors such as causative organisms, surgical intervention, living area and hearing loss.
