Trees of Hopea odorata Roxb. were used for reforestation and as street trees in most provinces of the South of Central Part and of South Vietnam. Trees of H. odorata were damaged by major harmful insects reducing seedling quality, economical value and income. Among harmful insects was a Trioza sp. Trioza sp. damaged trees in the nursery during most months of the year. Percentage of infected trees was always maximal (100 percent). Percentage of infected young leaves was very high (85.33 - 100 percent). Percentage of infected young leaves was often high (34.65 - 87.33 percent). The life cycle was 12.80 days in the laboratory and 13.59 days in the garden. Female adults laid on average 123 - 148 eggs. Adult longevity lasted on average 7.3 - 7.6 days. Thiamethoxam 0.003 percent. PSO 0.495 percent. Abamectin 0.004 percent have killed Trioza sp. fair after 3 sprayed days. well after 5 and 7 sprayed days; Semetent 0.166 percent has killed Trioza sp. fair after 5 and 7 sprayed days in the garden.
