Test results of 3 hybrid maize vatieties imported from China with control variety - NK4300 in Spring and Winter season 2011; Spring season 2012 in some Midland - moutainous' provinces has just chosen the prospect variety of GY135. In experiments of basic testing in Spring and Winter season 2011, GY135 had the highest yield and stable in the 2 seasons (8.27 tons/ha, Spring 2011 and 6.78 tons/ha, Winter 2011). Field trial results at 6 areas in 4 provinces of Thai Nguyen, Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang and Yen Bai in Winter 2011 and Spring 2012 showed that GY135 had yield of 6.17 tons/ha (Winter 2011) and from 5.78 to 7.34 tons/ha (Spring 2012), 101.1 to 105.5 percent higher than the control NK4300. GY 135 maize variety was also chosen to use in expanding the cultivated area in the next season.
