Objectives: Assess the dog roundworm larvae infection in humans at Nhon Phong and Nhon Hung, An Nhon district, Binh Dinh province; A description of risk factors for dog roundworm larvae infections in humans; To assess the effects of albendazole treatment on the dog roundworm larvae infection. Subjects and methods: The people were selected at several communes in An Nhon district, Binh Dinh province; The dog roundworm larvae infection was determined by ELISA; Sample soil and dog feces samples were collected at the study sites. The study was designed by the method described transect analysis and intervention studies. Results: The overall prevalence in the two study sites was 15.75 percent, the average age was 39.5 +/- 3.5 years old; Male ( 34.13 percent ), female ( 65.87 percent ); Patients group of from 5 to under 15 years: 18.25 percent, 15-60 years: 56.34 percent; above 60 years old group: 25.41 percent. Exposed soil and hold the dog or dogs at risk for dog roundworm larvae higher. Albendazole is effective treatment for patients with high efficiency by the dog roundworm larvae in a dose of 800 mg/day for adults and 400 mg/day for children 2 divided doses after food and combine sharepoint H2 antagonists.
