Supermarket is a modern form of retail that has appeared since the 1990s of the 20thcentury in Vietnam. The role of the supermarket network in our country is to provide acivilized consumption space with a diversified structure of goods and good product qualityto bring convenience to customers. The development of supermarket network is influencedby many factors: economic development and national economic policy; population size,structure and income; urbanization and industrial lifestyle; international economicintegration and foreign investment, socio-cultural factors, local supply chain factors,etc. Onthe basis of an overview of some common supermarket issues, the study evaluates theconditions for developing supermarket network in Thanh Hoa province. The study alsoproposes a number of solutions to contribute to effectively expanding and exploiting thesupermarket network in Thanh Hoa in the future
