In this work the authors study the enhancement of the electromagnetic field in the free space surrounding metallic nanoparticles due to the effect of their localized plasmon resonance. the authors start from a review of the known results in the case of a simple metallic spherical nanoparticle and then extend these results to the general case of any network of many identical spherical metallic nanoparticles. For illustration, some typical lattices of identical spherical metallic nanoparticles will be investigated. Analytical expressions and algebraic equations determining the electromagnetic field in the free space surrounding these typical networks will be derived.
