Improving professional skills for law students is one of the important tools to help them to be more likely to be employed. In fact, the skills of Vietnamese students are still lower than those of many countries in Southeast Asia. For law students particularly, after completing the bachelor's training programme, they are yet to be really integrated to meet the demand for human resources due to a number of reasons, namely: the training programme is not linked to practical application, the university not having a specific plan to be connected with potential employers to secure employment for the students, or having not determined specifically which skills are to be trained... Considering the situation, the article points out the inadequacies in skills training and offers solutions to improve the quality of the training of professional skills for law students in the current period.
