This paper aims to present the key results of the study conducted by the Institute for Family and Gender Studies in 2021 named “Religious beliefs and mental health of the elderly in rural areas”. The most significant conclusion ofthe research is that the old people participating in the spiritual activities quite actively; there is differences of genders and living standards in religious participation. The old elder with low-income, for instance, is found more religious than the old men or the wealthier people. However, all these people are generally reported to have an acceleration of satisfaction, happiness, and other positive emotions. These above mentioned findings consolidate practical basics to policy makers or further studies about building health care systems for the elderly, particularly mental health, in the sharp growth ofthe aging population like today.
