Four phenolic compounds, physcion (1), emodin (2), anthraglycoside A (3) and piceid (4) were isolated from the roots of Fallopia multiflora (thunb.) speciosa. The chemical structures of four compounds were elucidated by the analysis of NMR and MS spectroscopic, as well as in comparison with the data reported in literature.
