Objectives: To acess the status quo of moving and resolving medical solid trash and some elements related to the mangnament of medical solid waste at Viet-Tiep Friendship Hospital in 2012. Study methods: Slide description. Medical solid waste: scale the weight of all the daily trash of the hospital 3 times a week, in 10 months; collecting, moving and storing medical waste appliances at Viet-Tiep Friendship Hospital from 6/2011-10/2012. Result and discussion: The weight of waste: infectious trash/day is 80.3kg/day, accounted for 4.05 percent amount of waste arising. Infectious trash/patient's bed/day is 0.08kg/patient's bed/day. Normal waste/patient's bed/day is 1.67kg, accounted 89.94 percent. Conclutions: 1) Moving and storing medical solid trash at Viet-Tiep Friendship Hospital: Medical solid waste was moved and resolved according to decision No. 43/2007/QD-BYT, date 30/11/2007 of the Department of Health. Results moving medical solid waste from departments to the storage: the percentage of total points earned/ total points achieve 2.5/3 (83.33 percent); move the medical solid waste out of the hospital: the percentage of total points earned/total points achieve 2/3 (66.67 percent); 2) Resolving/Destroying medical solid waste: Results about medical solid waste storage: the percentage of total points earned/total points achieve 10/10(100 percent); Resolving/Destroying medical solid waste: the percentage of total points earned/total points achieve 11/11 (100 percent).
