The effect of electro - acupunture combined with Luc Vi Dia Hoang pill on motor function rehabilitation in pediatric patients after acute stage of encephalitis

Objective of this study was to evaluate the effect and clinical safety of electro-acupuncture combined with "Luc Vi Dia Hoang" pills on improving motor functionsin pediatric patients after acute stage of encephalitis. The results showed that electro-acupuncture combined with Luc vi dia hoang pill had good treatment effect: After treatment the average of Henry scale in the treated group decreased from 3.17 +/- 0.87 to 1.40 +/- 0.85, in the control group from 3.10 +/- 0.88 to 1.87 +/- 0.94 (p 0.05). The Denver II development screening test were increasesd after treatment in both groups (p 0.05). The improvement of gross motor skill in treated group was better than the control group with p 0.05. The(e was not any side effect in clinical appearance and paraclinical indicators. Electro-acupuncture methods combined with Luc Vi Dia Hoang pill had effect on motor function rehabilitation in pediatric patients after acute stage of encephalitiswithout undesirable effect during 8 weeks treatment.
