The hypopharyngeal cancer was common among the cancer of the upper respiratory and digestive tracts. Objectives: to find out the clinical features of hypopharyngeal cancer. Patients and methods: 62 patients with hypopharyngeal cancer operated in ENT hospital from Jan 2005 to Aug 2010. This was retrospective study. Results: The age range was from 40 to 70 (88.7 percent). The mean age was 53.4. 100 percent of patients presented by disturbance of swallow.The most of tumors derivated from piriform sinus ( 91.9 percent), among them they were from the medial wall of piriform sinus in 31/57 of cases and from the apex in 22/57 of cases. The most of patients were in advanced stages 12 and T3 (79 percent), cervical lymph node presented in 43.5 percent of cases, among them N1 presented in 40.3 percent. Conclusions: hypopharyngeal cancer occurred mostly in the middle age, The most of tumors derivated from piriform sinus. The most of patients were operated at advanced stages T2 and 13.
