Pig farming for pork or pork production is an important industry of the agricultural sector in Thanh Hoa province. In recent years, thanks to well management of local governments, pig rearing in the province has gradually developed; nevertheless, it is not really sustainable. Data gathered from statistical reports, especially from published statistical data on pig farming in general and pig farming for pork in particular were analyzed to evaluate the status and advantages and disadvantages of pork production in the province. Some solutions for future pork production were recommended.
