Vietnam located in the Eastern sea, with over 3260km of costal line. The eastern sea has not only the mineral but also has high value of biodiversity and bio-resources. In 2010, Government of Vietnam has approved the planning of the marine protected area system up to year of 2020. There are 16 protected areas in the list of Decision No. 742/QD- TTg of Government. The study results show that, there are 582 species belong to 177 families of 8 fauna group, induded (1) 102 species belong to 20 families of phytoplankton; (2) 104 species, 38 families of Mesoufauna; (3)15 species, belong to 8 families of Sea grass; (4) 72 species, 16 families of Coral; (5) 256 species, 80 families of Fish; (7) 8 species, 5 families of Mammal; (8) Reptile has 17 species 7 families; (10) amphibian include 8 species, 3 families. There are 4 types of vegetation of Hon Me Archipelago. There are 21 rare and precious species among 582 species (occupy 3,6 percent in the total) which have been identified, induding 4 species ranked in CR level (Critical Endangered), 6 species ranked in EN (Endangered); 9 species ranked Vulnerable level. Archipelago of Hon Me is not far from mainland, the human impact is high but the biodiversity of the area is till high. In order to conserve biodiversity of Hen Me area, it is needed to establish Hon Me marine protected area as soon as possible.
