Onychostoma laticeps has a high economic value in Thua Thien - Hue province. After two years of research, reproductive characteristics of Onychostoma laticeps are identified that the male and female rates in the natural group is 2.1:1; the maturation rate is a highest from November to May and changed fluctuates from 0.44 percent to 8.1 percent for females and from 0.22 percent to 3.24 percent for males. The average of reproductive rate is 6308 eggs/female and the relative reproductive rate is 22.9 eggs/female. Age of Onychostoma laticeps hatchery at age of 1', which is equivalent of body length is 20.5 cm long and weighed around 90 g/head. From November to next May for sprawing season of Onychostoma laticeps in Thua Thien - Hue province.
