The aims of this research to evaluate and the agronomical traits, yield and quality for chip processing and resistance to PVY, PYX virus of somatic hybrid clones in the field. Results showed that somatic hybrids H79, H76 grown better, had higher yield than their parental lines and cv. Solara. Results of evaluation of PYX virus and PVY virus resist.nce by mechanical inoculation showed that their PVY resistance were more improved than their parental lines, while their PYX resistance was maintained. The content of starch, reducing sugar of these somatic hybrids were completely suitable for chip processing like cv. Atlantic which is the best chip processing potato. This study proved that potato breeding using protoplast fusion method was the promised direction.
