The article introduces a basin approach, a study on using soil and water assessment tool (SWAT) in order to determine the impact of forest cover to flow during flood and dry season in Srepok river basin under different forests' status. The research results show that the increase in the forest cover is followed by the increase in the flow regulation. the erosion is less, the soil is protected the flow is steady... and vice versa, the flow increases during flood season and reduces in dry season. All the results lead to the conclusion that the role of forests in maintaining water resource is very important.
