The experiment was carried out by using a completely randomized design on 20 Laisind (Sindhi-Yellow) female cattle with 13-15 months of age, initial weight 144 +/- 6 kg. Four treatments were made including: without cassava forage supplementation (CF-0), 20 percent dried cassava forage supplementation (DCF-20), 20 percent ensiled cassava forage supplementation (ECF-20) and 20 percent fresh cassava forage supplementation (FCF-20) in the basal diet of elephant grass. Daily intakes of dry matter (DMI) and protein (CPI) increased gradually with supplementing of cassava forage (P0.05). Daily weight gain was lowest in treatment CF-0 (333g/day), followed by FCF-20 (420g/day), and highest in treatment DCF-20 (464g/day) and ECF-2u (477g/day) (P0.05). Feed conversion ratio varied from 8.96 to 11.0 kg OM/kg weight gain. Methane production (liter/kg weight gain) in CF-0 (371L) was higher than cassava forage supplemented treatments DCF-20, ECF-20 and FCF-20 with 235L, 230L and 245L, respectively (P0.05).
