Vietnam seafood exports have confirmed their great importance to the national economic development. The goal of increasing the total exports of seafood to USD 6.5 billions by 2012 requires further efforts. To reach the goals, the sector has to overcome tougher and more sophisticated barriers set by importers. EU represents big exporting market of Vietnam seafood. However, upon the issuance of IUU regulations, the exports to this market have negatively affected. Understanding the regulations and working out proper measures to overcome the barriers will help Vietnam to increase its exports to this market.
