Due to greenhouse effect, the global temperature increases which makes the glaciers melting and sea level rising. Sea level rise will drown many islands and seashore provinces in the affected countries among which, Viet Nam is the most affected country. As per warnings from experts, the effect of climate change onland resources of Viet Nam is rather serious and a visible threat to the objective of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, the implementation of millennium goals and the sustainable development of the country; also, climate change cause serious damage to the life and health of population in those areas which include the followings: loss of fertile production land, soil erosion, desertification, drought, crumbling, lateralization, salinity, aluminum,... Within the research scope of this article, the authors would only elaborate experiences of some countries in the world in the monitoring process of land resources, adaptation to climate change as well as effect of climate change to land resources in Viet Nam in the past years and warnings for the future; identification of potential risks. Base on these studies, the authors would propose for the research and development of a set of criteria for land resources (including quality and quantity aspects), as well as a monitoring system and solutions for implementation of such system in order to achieve the best results.
