Gymnosperm in the Xuan Nha nature reserve, Son La province is diverse with 12 species belonging to 11 genera and 5 families, of them Gnetaceae has 1 species, Cupressaceae and Taxaceae 2 species, Pinaceae 3 species, Podocarpaceae 4 species. Gymnosperm plants in Xuan Nha nature reserve also important in conservation value with 10 species are listed in IUCN Red list 2013, of them 2 species; is classified at endangered (EN), 2 species are classified at vulnerable (VU). There are 5 species in Red Data Book of Vietnam 2007 and 5 species in Decree 32/2006/NDCP of the Vietnamese government. Pinus annandii Franch. is a new Gymnosperm plant species for flora of Vietnam only found in the research area. Most Gymnosperm species in Xuan Nha nature distribute at altitudes above 1000 m sea level. .The study also assessed the conservation status, and natural regeneration characteristics of 05 important species of gymnosperms in the research area Fokienia hodginsii (Dunn) Henry et Thomas, Calocedros ropestris Aver., Hiep
