The survey was carried out on herds of H'Mong cattle in Pac Nam, Ba Be and Cho Don district, Bac Kan province to assess the current status, body indice and some re-productivity characteristics of the animals. The research parameters include: H'Mong cattle herd structure, body weight, body size measurement and some physiological indicators of cattle. From the survey results which contributed to the assessment, evaluation and selection of cattle in the study area in order to manage animal breeding and herd management. The results showed that the structure of the herd was relatively reasonable. However, the ration of reproductive male/female higher than breeding program recommendation. Body weight and body size indices of studied animals in Bac Kan were lower than that of cattle in Ha Giang and other provinces. Age at first calving mostly ranging from 3-4 years old (58.44 percent), is the calving interval was approximately 1 year (47.09 percent total investigated cattle). Female H'Mong cattle in Bac Kan are good-condition, eligible for re-productivity with 41.55 percent of total herd. The number of non-qualified bulls selected for breeding was rather high in proportion (47.51 percent of the total males).
