32 Species of weed belonging 13 diferent families are found in wet sown rice fields in North Vietnam. Among that 9 species are in group of grassy weeds, 10 of sedges and 13 ones are broad leaved weeds. Density of weed in wet sown rice fields is clearly higher than that of transplanted rice fialds. Distribution of above mentioned species is different in the fields with different pH and organic material contents. The most imporlant weeds sofar found in wed sown rice fields are Echinochloa crussgally, cyperus difformis, Leptochloa chinensis, fimbristylis miliacea and Rotela indica. These weeds are completly controlled by herbicide sofit 300 ND at dosage of 1 litre/ha applied 1-3 days after sowing in summer season and 2-6 days in winter season
