From the past until now, Vietnamese coffee has been considered a quality product favored by friends around the world, especially in a fastidious market like the EU. Currently, Vietnamese coffee is in the top one or two in the world, but regardless of the product, being able to compete and stand firm in their market is not simple and depends on many factors. In this study, we compare the competitiveness index in coffee exports between Vietnam and the EU, thereby finding trade advantages and finding a way to improve coffee exports to this market, this is a very important and necessary issue. The study uses the comparative method of RCA (Revealed Comparative Advantage), with research data taken from the WITS dataset for Vietnam and 28 EU member countries in 2019. The results showed that Vietnam's coffee exports have great trade advantages over EU countries. Based on the RCA index, the study proposed several counter measures to the Vietnamese government, coffee businesses contribute to taking advantage of advantages to promote Vietnamese coffee exports to the EU. Counter measures such as focusing on improving coffee quality to meet EU high technical standards, increasing investment in deep processing, chain production, and ensuring conditions on traceability, construction, and development of its brand for Vietnamese coffee in the EU.
