Method based on multivariate linear regression, Fisher test and Akaike information criteria (AIC) has modeled the relationship between catch per unit effort (CPUE) with some environmental factors in the west of the Bac Bo Gulf by the four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter with a correlation coefficient, respectively 0.4, 0.39, 0.51 and 0.47. There is a combination of different environmental factors affecting CPUE by each season. Besides, the relationship between some environmental factors with some CPUE of commercial fish also calculated (including 9 species belonging to 5 ecological groups). Although the analysis has not fully reflected the relationship between CPUE and some environmental. factors through a multivariate linear regression, but it also provides the information about orientation the choice of using environmental factors as input in the process of the building fishing forecasting in the future.
