Bài viết đề cập về quá trình công nghiệp hóa, hiện đại hóa nông nghiệp, nông thôn ở Việt Nam nói chung và Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long nói riêng. Dựa trên các lý thuyết phát triển nông nghiệp, nông thôn và các tiêu chí về công nghiệp hóa, hiện đại hóa nông nghiệp, nông thôn, bài viết sử dụng số liệu vĩ mô của Ngân hàng Thế giới và Niên giám thống kê Việt Nam để đo lường các tiêu chí công nghiệp hóa, hiện đại hóa nông nghiệp, nông thôn của Việt Nam và Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long và đối sánh với nhóm các nước có thu nhập trung bình. Ngoài ra, bài viết cũng sử dụng mô hình hồi quy và phân tích kịch bản để dự báo quá trình công nghiệp hóa, hiện đại hóa nông nghiệp, nông thôn cho những năm tiếp theo. Kết quả nghiên cứu chỉ ra rằng nếu không có những thay đổi quyết liệt về mô hình tăng trưởng thì phải đến giai đoạn 2040-2045 quá trình công nghiệp hóa, hiện đại hóa nông nghiệp, nông thôn ở Việt Nam mới có thể hoàn thành. Đối với Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long, thời gian hoàn thành quá trình công nghiệp hóa, hiện đại hóa nông nghiệp, nông thôn sẽ diễn ra lâu hơn so với trung bình cả nước. Cuối cùng, các hàm ý chính sách được đề xuất nhằm đẩy nhanh quá trình công nghiệp hóa, hiện đại hóa nông nghiệp, nông thôn.

The paper analyzed the industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural sectors in Vietnam in general and the Mekong Delta in particular. Based on theories of agricultural and rural development and criteria on industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural sectors, the macro data of the World Bank and Vietnam Statistical Yearbook were used to measure the criteria for industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural sectors in Vietnam and the Mekong Delta, compared with the group of middleincome countries as well. In addition, the paper applied regression models and scenario analysis to forecast the process of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural sectors for the following years. The findings showed that the process of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural sectors in Vietnam can not be completed if the growth model is not renewed. In the case of the Mekong Delta, the time to complete the process of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural sectors will even take longer than the national average. Finally, policy recommendations are proposed to accelerate the process of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural sectors.
