This paper solved the problem of adaptive state synchronization between Chen chaotic system and CNN (Cellular Neural Network) with uncertain parameters. Results of the adaptive synchronization control was proven based closely on the Lyapunov stability theory. Then these results were used to construct the digital image encryption algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed image encryption algorithm was analyzed based on a common metrics. The example simulations were implemented in the Matlab environment.
