This study was conducted to evaluate the dietary effects of inclusion of 0.5 percent garlic paste (Allium sativum) and copper at different levels on egg production, egg quality traits, yolk and plasma cholesterol content of 240 Hisex brown layers, 38 weeks of age. Birds were allocated according to a completely randomized design into four treatments with 15 replicates. The hens were fed a commercial diet (basal diet containing 15.7 mg Cu), basal diet plus 0.5 percent garlic paste + 150, 200 and 250 mg cupric sulfat pentahydrate. Egg production, egg weight, feed intake, feed efficiency, yolk index and Haugh unit were not affected by feeding garlic paste and copper, but shape index, albumin index, yolk and albumin ratio, egg shell thickness and egg shell index were increased with increasing copper supplementation. Plasma cholesterol, triglycerides and egg yolk cholesterol contents were not reduced in the diets including garlic paste plus copper.
