Object: Investigate knowledge about, attitude toward and practice of voluntary non-remunerated blood donation of students in Hanoi Medical University in 2011. Method: Descriptive crosssectional study was conducted on 600 students who are studying in HMU by using questionnaire during December, 2011. Result: Results showed that 46,67 percent of the students are fully aware of voluntary non-remunerated blood donation (VNRBD). 86 percent of the respondents are interested in blood donation. 81.5 percent are willing to donate blood, 76,2 percent support their friends and relatives involved, 74,5 percent are willing to continue participating VBD. 46,7 percent of students practiced VBD, 67,0 percent encouraged their friends and their family to donate blood. Male students, resident students, leaders participate in donation higher than other. Group student being fully aware of blood donation are more likely to donate on a regular basis than others. The rate of students who see/meet. patients transferring practice donate blood at 1.5 times more than other groups. Conclusion: The rate of students who have good knowledge about blood donation is low. Group student who are being fully aware and have seen patients donate blood more than others.
