To address the causes of wasting timethat have or do not have an impact on students'academic achievement, this study was conductedutilizing quantitative research methods, alongsidea variety of research methods, such as documentresearch, an exploratory survey of 307 students, anofficial survey with 6,670 statistically validstudent’s responses, interviews, exploratory factoranalysis (EFA), scale reliability analysis,descriptive statistics, and inferential statistics.Consequently, all of the 11 causes of wasting timethat belong to the two categories of objective andsubjective causes are at the influential level.Whether in the group of objective or subjectivecauses, reasons related to the use of technology arethe leading cause of wasting students' time. Inaddition, the study also found that there is asignificant difference between student's academicresults, with the main trend of students with fairacademic performance having more wasted timewhen compared to groups of students with good andexcellent grades. Therefore, to have good learningresults, students need to study and practice timemanagement skills to increase the efficiency of timeuse and avoid time-consuming factors
