Staphylococcus epidermidis has been identified as an important cause of hospital-acquired infection. In this study, 36 Staphylococcus epidermidis strains were isolated in different time points of surgical procedure from 12 patients in No.108 Military Central hospital from June to September 2012. These strains were identified by API Staph-Ident system and typed by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) of Sma/restricted genomic DNA. The results showed, among 36 isolates from 12 patients, 6 pairs of isolates were clonal.
