As well as the countries which have developed on dairy herd, the dairy industry in Vietnam is facing to two major problems such as reproductive disease and nutritional disorder. The cows with reproductive pathological findings usually caused abnormal ovarian such as cysts ovary, prolonged luteal phase and inactive ovary. To control ovary disease, the methods are using reproductive hormones and it was received many successfully. However, the use of hormones in Vietnam is still iniffective and not applied in a strictly scientific method or lack of understanding. Thus, not only not effective for treatment of reproductive disorder but also bring bad effect on reproductive system leading to permanently non pregnancy in dairy cow or the cow is still in heat or estrus but not fertilized and resulting on non pregnancy. The experiment was carried out from April, 2011 to April, 2014 in Ba Vi, Ha Noi to identify ovarian disease and the effective used of hormones for treatment. Over 746 dairy cows were used for examination. The result show that, there were 125 cows (16.75 percent) did not show any estrus till 120 days after calving and most of the cases were ovarian disease such as prolonged luteal phase (17.60 percent), cysts ovary (28.00 percent) and inactive ovary (54.40 percent). On the other hand, the application for hormone treatment was resulted in estrus in dairy cow and the pregnancy rate was reach to 90.90 percent and 72.72 percent in case of prolonged luteal phase; 88.57 percent and 71.42 percent in case of cyst ovary; 83.82 percent and 61.76 percent in case of ovarian inactivity, respectively. In general, dairy cows in Ba Vi ratio postpartum estrus lower, mainly due to prolonged luteal disease, cysts ovarian, inactive ovary. By using hormone therapy in the treatment of reproductive somewhat improve fertility dairy herds.
