Từ lâu, cô đơn và đau khổ tâm lý trong thanh thiếu niên đã thu hút được nhiều sự chú ý của các nhà nghiên cứu. Nghiên cứu này nhăm tìm hiểu tỷ lệ cô đơn, đau khổ tâm lý và mối quan hệ giữa chúng ở thanh thiếu niên Thừa Thiên - Huế. Tổng cộng có 980 thanh thiếu niên Thừa Thiên - Huế tham gia vào nghiên cứu này. Thời gian khảo sát tháng 6/2021 - đây là thời điểm mà làn sóng thứ tư của đại dịch Covid-19 đang phát trien mạnh mẽ ở Việt Nam, hoạt động dạy và học của các nhà trường đều bằng hình thức trực tuyến. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy, tỷ lệ thanh thiếu niên ở mẫu nghiên cứu có các biểu hiện của đau khổ tâm lý và cô đơn lần lượt là 78,3% và 97,3%. Phân tích tương quan cho thấy cảm giác cô đơn có tương quan thuận đáng kể với đau khổ tâm lý ở thanh thiếu niên Thừa Thiên - Huế. Những phát hiện của nghiên cứu này không những làm phong phú lý thuyết đã có mà còn là cơ sở lý thuyết cho các can thiệp phòng ngừa đau khổ tâm lý cho thanh thiếu niên.

Loneliness and psychological distress among adolescents have long attracted the attention of researchers. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of loneliness, psychological distress and the relationship between them among adolescents in Thua Thien - Hue. A total of 980 adolescents f-rom Thua Thien - Hue participated in this study. The research results indicated that the prevalence of psychological distress and loneliness among adolescents in Thua Thien - Hue were 78.3% and 97.3%, respectively. The correlation analyses showed that loneliness significantly positively correlated with psychological distress. The findings ofthis study not only can enrich the current understanding but also can provide a theoretical basis for the development of interventions to prevent psychological distress in adolescents.
