Dong Nai Culture - Nature Reserve (DNCNR) contains forest ecosystems which are typical for the Southeastern. Although the forests are partially damaged, the fauna and flora in Dong Nai Culture - Nature Reserve still reflect the richness in biodiversity, especially in valuable and rare animals. According to the result the survey conducted from 2007 to 2009, 530 species of vertebrate animals were found. Among them 66 species were ranged as endangered animals in Vietnam and 44 species as endangered animals in the world. With the support from Vietnam Conservation Fund, the authors conducted the program "Survey and assessment of some rare, valuable and threatened wild animals at DNCNR, Dong Nai province" v'ith the purpose as below: To evaluate ecological conditions of rare and valuable wildlife and specific species representing for landscape and environment at DNCNR; to propose some technical solutions for effective management and preservation of rare and valuable wildlife at DNCNR; to instruct processing of supervision and appreciation and preserve some rare and valuable, threatening wildlife at DNCNR Finally, the survay recorded 16 rare, valuable, threatening species including 10 Mammalias and 6 Aves during the survey process in 2010. In there, we had directly observed 10 species including 6 mammalias, and 4 aves, as well as the rest of 6 species that we recorded indirectly via animal's activities such as footprint, dung. Moreover, we made a conclusion that hunting, exploitation and animal husbandry were 3 reasons that have been influenced biodiversity. A system of investigation transects and supervision was set up for those loqg-term and basic activities. The collected data will be useful for the management board of Dong Nai reserve.
