Aedes aegypti (L.) and Aedes albopiqtus (Skuse) are two important vectors of dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever, were collected from Thai Sinh, Nam Dinh, Nghe An and Ha Tinh, North Vietnam, from June 2010 to September 2010. The patterns of insecticide susceptibility to Deltamethrin 0.05 percent, Permethrin 0.75 percent, M~lathion 5 percent and resistant to DDT4 percent of both Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus. adult were determined. The results showed that Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus from' all study sites were,. susceptible to Deltamethrin 0.05 percent, Permethrin 0.75 percent, Malathion 5 percent and resistant to DDT4 percent. May be resistant to Alpha-Cypermethrin 30 mg/m2, Lambda-Cyhalothrin 0.05 percent. In Thai Binh and Nam Dinh Ae. aegypti was not found, while in Nghe An and Ha Tinh, Ae. aegypti was more common than Ae. albopictus. The number of mosquitoes and mosquito larvae was high especially in the coastal plain landscape, 61 percent of the survey had the Sreteau index greater than 50 and in all studied sites is the rate of container index larger than 10 percent.
