This study aimed to find of density affects taro intercropped with acasia (Acacia mangium Willd) in the early stages of age 1 and 2 (2013 and 2014) in Xuat Hoa commune, Bac Kan city, Bac, Kan province. The density level of intercropping include 28,000 - 24,000 - 20,000 clusters per ha, and the controlled density 33,000 clusters per ha. After 2 years, the monitoring results showed that taro plants capable of growing and developing well when intercropped with Acasia in the first 2 years after planting; effect of density on taro yield quite remarkably, the highest in density 24,000 clusters per ha with productivity increases of 30 percent and higher economic efficiency from 19,247,500 to 40,847,500 VND per ha compared with controlled model. Comparing age when intercropped garden saw intercrop taro yield first year (5.9 to 7.2 ton per ha) higher than the 2nd year (from 4.7 to 5.4 ton per ha). Thus, the results of taro intercropped with pineapple density of 24,000 per ha in the early stages of age 1 and 2 bring economic benefits for the people in Bac Kan, which has been recommended expanding the area intercrop taro with similar conditions in Bac Kan.
