The determination of national borders is an important aspect of political geography science. Base on an analyzation of the specific characteristics of Vietnam, this paper proposes a way to apply this approach to all national borders. The approach is to clarify issues and ensure a scientific resolution of difficult and sensitive issues. This can allow Vietnam to define objectives and long-term goals to consolidate and develop the border region.
