Van Don island district has an important role in the economic and national security. Van Don potential aggregate economic development especially marine aquaculture, fishing, tourism, sea transport. At the same time, the island lies near the center of the industrial development of the province and municipalities should meet the advantage for socio-economic development. Through the research process, evaluation can see socio-economic of Van Don has been in the direction of sustainable development. Sustainability is fully expressed through the criteria, selection criteria for evaluation. However, socio-economic Van Don in the development process also exposed some potential risks of unsustainable.
