Project success of polder and coastal projects has attracted much attention in recent years. This paper aims to preliminarily summarize critical success factors (CSFs) for polder and coastal projects in Kiengiang province in the early stage. Firstly, a list of 47 potential factors is extracted from previous studies, news articals, and practical reports. Then, a group of 9 highly experienced professionals are directly interviewed to identify CSFs for polder and coastal projects. Finally, 41 CSFs, which could affect the success of polder and coastal projects, are identified. The findings of this paper could provide a useful piece of information to manage polder and coastal projects better.
