This paper presents the results of producing particle board from rice straw. Three pre-treatment methods of rice straw for producing particle board were studied including grinding; grinding combine with steaming and grinding combine with chemical treatment. The effect of some treatment conditions on particle board properties is established. The results show that without treatment, the quality of particle board is poor, but after treatment, its quality is improved drastically. The method of grinding combine with solution of NaOH 1 M and H2O2 treatment give best effect. With the amount of 0.7 percent based on oven dried weight of rice straw, the 12 mm particle board produced has internal bond of 0.37 MPa, bending strength of 14.04 MPa with density of 0.70 g/ cm3 which meet the requirement of particle board for non-wood materials.
